The EFKON Tag is a multi-application transponder designed for Dedicated Short Range Communication compliant to CEN/TC 278 Standard 5,8 GHz. The Tag is equipped with a Left Hand Circular Polarized antenna and a microwave circuitry for the 5.8GHz frequency band.

The base band section contains a secure CPU which provides encryption algorithms and secure storing of program, application parameters and keys. The Tag is designed with a non-volatile memory allowing battery replacement without data or program loss.
