Microwave Beacon 5,8 GHz
EFKONs Microwave Beacon Type FZ58058 is a Antenna/Interrogator operating at 5,8Ghz accordint to CEN/TC 278 Standard. The Antenna can be operated for Single-Lane operations, for instance "side mounted" on leight weighted constructions as signal light poles. In Multi-Lane Scenarios the Beacons are typically overhead mounted.
WORKFLOW:
Vehicle approaches the DSRC uW communication area of the beacon
OBU receives a request signal from the beacon
Vehicles moves into the communication zone
Data exchange between OBU and beacon takes place
All relevant data (e.g. OBU ID, vehicle class, etc.) are read by the controller
Toll fare is calculated and a corresponding transaction is created (depending on the used transaction model)
Several checks (signature, keys, blacklist, etc.) are done
Successful transaction is indicated by an audible signal (depending on the OBU model used)
Transaction data is forwarded to Matching & Storage Module for further matching purpose

MICROWAVE TRANSACTION SOFTWARE
The DSRC Transaction Software contains the ETC/EFC applications for operating a Microwave Beacon type FZ58058. The Software packages contains the controller and low level "operating software" which manages the synchronisation of MLFF operations, but enables also configuration of the beacon basic parameters and settings. The DSRC Transaction SW contains different ETC applications as for example A1/GSS or GoMaut. They are easy accessible via the so-called FETP-Protocol. This high-level application protocol allow access to the ETC tolling applications, which are running fully autonomoulsy on the Antenna (or lane controller).

The EFKON Desktop Reader MI FZ20058DR is tag programming and user personalisation device for Microwave Tags CEN/TC 278. It enables Tag issuers and operators to read and write user personalisation data and attributes and to program a tag with specific keys ensuring secure tag data access as well as authentication via DES/3DES encryption.
