DSRC with Microwave is meanwhile spread all over the world as a technology emerging in the early 70ties. The need and pressure of standardisation was evident with the rapid growth of electronic tolling, concessionaires and service providers and the desired interoperability and idea of “travelling with one single OBU trough any country”. Especially the European Commission took a leading role in DSRC standardization, which partly got accredited also as international ISO standards. The reliance on ISO and CEN Standards as public and open available industry specifications is making the technology ideal for deploying reliable ITS and EFC services all over the world.
