EFKON’s SmartCard based fuel payment system excels by post- and especially by pre-paid (purse) functionality in on- and fully offline mode. Whereby post-payment is standard in most western countries, pre-paid fuel cards can offer all benefits of “plastic payment” for people not possessing bank accounts. Gift- or redemption cards as well as anonymous and “over-the-counter” cards can be realized optimally with pre-paid cards. Pre-Paid offers other additional advantages: it doesn’t require cost-intensive communication infrastructure for online backend authorisation of payment transactions.
