What is ISO TC 204 CALM?
The work-item ISO TC 204 CALM was established to provide a universal communications interface for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication.
CALM replaces the numerous current implementations which are semi-standard and proprietary with one single standard.
The current portfolio of technologies includes:
- GSM 2G (Wide Area)
- GSM 3G (Wide Area)
- Infrared (0-1000m directional communication)
- Microwave 5.8/5.9 Ghz (0-1000m non-directional communication)
- Radar 60 GHz
