When red light systems are installed, the rate of red-light running is typically reduced to 40% of the benchmark that was previously determined. It then slowly reduces further and typically remains at 30% of the initial benchmark. Thereby, such systems are generating revenue on a long term basis should that be one of the reasons for deployment.
