MACH-4 is build around two major core areas

As an easy extensible framework MACH-4 comprises all major modules and services to realize high-performing and large-scale, tailor made smartcard systems. The framework is based on Java Enterprise Architecture J2E fully relying on open system philosophy.
The framework covers the mostly required multi-application Smart Card management and e-payment services as powerful, ready-to-go modules as for example master data management, card personalisation, single/multi application management, clearing or reporting. Additionally it offers several ready-to-go services like pre-paid/post-paid purses or a loyalty application.
MACH-4 SmartCard Management
The SmartCard Management Framework supports all related business processes enabling issuers to manage their card lifecycle. Single- and multiple applications can be realized on the same, single card like stored value pre-paid purses for fare collection, a credit and post-paid purse, a loyalty application for retailers or authentication services. The system is fully Web-enabled aiming at high performance, high security and scaleability.
Special focus is put on fraud prevention and security integration as PIN management, card black/whitelisting, blocking, replacement, missing transactions, unsold cards and dozens of other related validation services.
MACH-4 Payment
The MACH-4 payment framework enables convenient and secure utilisation of “plastic money” by means of Smart Card. It supports electronic payment and fund transfers in several modes.
MACH-4 excels by its pre-paid capability in fully offline operation mode. The electronic Smart Card media enables micro-payment and fully multi-application capability with highest security. Especially that functions are marking MACH-4 as a suitable solution for western industries as well as for emerging markets. It is ideal to be utilised in various revenue collection and payment scenarios for any industry as transportation, telecommunication, health or public services.
